La Bandera de España está formada por tres franjas horizontales cuyos colores son roja, amarilla y roja, siendo la amarilla de doble anchura que las rojas», según establece en el artículo 4.1 de la Constitución Española de 1978.
El origen de la Bandera de España que está actualmente se remonta en el reinado de Carlos III (1759-1788). En esa época coexistían en España tres banderas que son el estandarte real, las banderas militares y el pabellón de Marina. La mayoría de países utilizaban pabellones en los que predominaba el color blanco, lo que producía inconvenientes de identificación y confusiones en el mar entre los buques de guerra. Para eludirlo, el rey encargó a su ministro de Marina, Antonio Valdés, un proyecto para la sustitución del pabellón naval, y solucionar así el problema.
La bandera se saca por motivo de alegría, defensa e incluso tristeza como motivo de decoración o perdida, lo que significa que es muy versátil a la hora de usarla, pero siempre con un sentimiento que llena en muchas situaciones. Eso sí, siempre ha de usarse o izar con respeto. También podemos tener plasmada la bandera en pulsera, sellos, mancuernillas, etc.
